The Presidency of the Council of Ministers (PCM) published its decision in the official newspaper El Peruano and covers the districts of Challhuahuacho and Coyllurqui, in the province of Cotabambas, for a period of 30 days, in which the National Police will take over total control supported by the Armed Forces.

Members of the council held a meeting with representatives of Las Bambas at the headquarters of PCM. The objective was to find a solution that would allow peace to be restored in the communities near the Southern Road Corridor. In the meeting, attended by representatives of the Ministry of Energy and Mines and the PCM, the company expressed its commitment to formulate and present a new proposal that allows satisfying the demands of the protesting communities involved in said social conflict.
