New Leece-Neville PowerPro and PowerPro
Extreme series high-torque starters
for medium- or heavy-duty and extreme-
use applications are available now
from Prestolite Electric. PowerPro and
PowerPro Extreme 12 V and 24 V starters
— engineered to provide starting power
for 12-L to 40-L engines — include
features to help reduce operating and
maintenance costs and increase vehicle
uptime, including high-torque, high-power
designs, planetary gear reduction,
rotatable flanges, soft start relays and
more. The new PowerPro and PowerPro
Extreme product line features four models
— PowerPro 5, PowerPro 7, PowerPro
7.5 and PowerPro Extreme 10 — that offer
coverage of heavy-duty engines from
the world’s top manufacturers, including
Caterpillar, Cummins, Detroit Diesel, International,
John Deere and Perkins, to
name just a few.
PowerPro 5 is for medium- and
heavy-duty diesel engines up to 11 L,
and offers 12 V, 5 kW starting power.
PowerPro 7 is designed for heavy-duty
diesel engines up to 16 L, and has 12
V, 7 kW starting power. PowerPro 7.5,
for medium and heavy-duty diesel engines
up to 14 L, features 24-V, 7.5-kW
starting power and weighs less than 29 lb
(13.2 kg). PowerPro Extreme 10 for extreme-
use heavy equipment, such as that
used in mining, provides 24-V, 10.5-kW
starting power, covers Case, Caterpillar,
Cummins, Hitachi, John Deere, Komatsu
and MTU engines, weighs only 36 lb
(16.5 kg), and has a -40°C to 125°C ambient
operating range.
