BHP Billiton Iron Awards Wear Liner Contract to CME



Perth, Australia-based CME will supply wear liners, such as the installation shown here, under a long-term contract from
BHP Billiton Iron Ore. Under a separate contract, the company also will provide wear management advisory services for
all of BHP Billiton’s Pilbara sites.
Crushing & Mining Equipment (CME) announced that it has been awarded a 10-year contract to supply wear liners to BHP Billiton Iron Ore’s (BHPIO) Pilbara sites in Western Australia. In addition, CME said it has been awarded the sole contract to conduct wear management advisory services for all sites. Both contracts will run independently and will renew year-on-year dependent on achievement of key performance targets.

The contract for wear liners involves supply of CME’s wear products lineup, which includes a range of overlay wear plate, Q&T wear plate, NiHard and ceramic liners, all of which can be customized to suit any application.

The company said the contract for wear management advisory services comprises on-site chute inspections and condition reporting, wear liners inventory management, installation and design consultation, wear materials testing, engineering support, and training.
