Screen Provides Improved
Capacity, Reliability and
Safety
Metso’s latest high-energy elliptical motion
horizontal screen, the model ES, is claimed
to provide increased uptime and safer
maintenance, while delivering up to 25%
more screening capacity compared with a
conventional screen of the same size. The
two unbalanced shaft lines in the Metso ES
rotate in opposite directions, generating a
high-energy elliptical motion with a selfsynchronization design. The ES also features a robust deck frame design, with no
welding along the cross-member sections.
The weld-free side plates ensure optimal
durability and a high stress tolerance, and
the huck-bolted design guarantees accurate assembling conditions. There are no
mechanical timing devices, gears, belts or
oil leakage, which together with the reliable
grease lubrication system, keeps downtime
and maintenance to a minimum. The unit
also offers up to 50% more space between
the decks compared with similar flat
screens, for easier, safer and more comfortable access for maintenance. The Metso
ES is equipped with coil spring covers, rubber stabilizers, high-safety belt guards and
one centralized, conveniently located greasing manifold. The feedbox, discharge
spout and cardan shafts of the screen feature Trellex modular wear- and impactresistant rubber linings as standard protection. The standard deck frame of the screen
is preconfigured to handle both modular
and tension screening media with minimal
interruption and can be easily converted to
handle the media of choice.
