Lubricants Offer Savings, Extended Service Life
ExxonMobil Lubricants and Petroleum
Specialties, a division of ExxonMobil, has
launched the next generation of Mobil SHC
600 Series lubricants. According to
ExxonMobil L&S, extensive laboratory and
in-service testing showed the new SHC
600 Series lubricants provide energy sav-ings of up to 3.6% compared with conven-tional oils. In addition, the new lubricants’
advanced synthetic base fluids and propri-etary additive system can deliver a service
life up to six times longer than competitive
mineral oil-based gear and bearing lubri-cants, said the company, which added that
the lubricants deliver a number of other
significant benefits including outstanding
low temperature fluidity to enable startup
and operation at low temperatures, and
excellent resistance to rusting and corro-sion for equipment protection. ExxonMobil
said SHC 600 Series oils are recommend-ed for use in 1,800 applications by more
than 500 major equipment builders,
including Siemens, for use in Flender gear-boxes. The enhanced series is approved by
SEW-Eurodrive for gearbox factory-fill and
service-fill worldwide. The multi-purpose
potential of Mobil SHC 600 Series oils
enable companies to reduce their overall
lubricant inventory, delivering additional
cost-savings and storage benefits. They are
also fully compatible with system compo-nents and materials used in equipment
normally lubricated with mineral oils.
