Crusher Improvements Bring Higher Capacity, Easier Maintenance
Metso’s Nordberg MP1250 cone crusher
is claimed to provide up to 25% more
capacity with an increase in power to
1,250 hp, while maintaining the same
physical footprint as the company's
MP1000 model. According to Metso, the
MP1250 offers nearly a dozen key features
and benefits that include: a more
robust bearing design that allows a wider
range of application and maximizes bearing
life; a redesigned mainframe for improved
durability; a new eccentric design
provides improved surface finish and protects
the eccentric in the event of overload;
and a new head bushing and socket
design reduces head spin during noload
operation without the need for a
mechanical clutch assembly.
Design improvements have been
made to the mantle locknut, hydraulic
tramp protection system and bowl adjustment
and bowl removal, along with faster
hydraulic re-pressurization times. Many
of the upgrade features are also available
as individual components. Metso also
has developed an MP1000 retrofit kit,
which includes a new sleeved, high-throw
eccentric; large counterweight with bolton
guard; upper head bushing; head ball;
and socket liner.
