Survey Data Collector Offers Rugged Case and Improved Convenience


Carlson Software has introduced the new Carlson Surveyor+ data collector, a magnesium- cased, ruggedized version with an IP67 water and dust-resistant ingress rating. In addition to more memory capacity and increased operating speed than the company’s current Surveyor model, the Surveyor+ is capable of holding an extra battery to increase operating time. Weighing just 2 lb each, the Carlson Surveyor line offers up to 1 gigabyte of memory with the option to expand. Designed with surveyors in mind, the Surveyor and Surveyor+ keyboard is sized to work with gloved hands, with backlit control keys. The computer runs on Windows Mobile 6 but can be configured with Carlson SurvCE 2.0 data collection software. A 3.5-in.-diagonal backlit screen offers color QVGA resolution of 240 x 320 pixels. The units also are equipped with two styles of USB connectors for user convenience.
