HEX-Mounted Rock Drills from Junttan


Junttan Oy, a Finnish company, presented its line of RockDrills designed to be mounted on hydraulic excavators. The RockDrill line, which includes models capable of drilling hole diameters ranging from 30 to 127 mm, is topped by the flagship model 45A/51A. The 45A, designed for both utility drilling as well as production drilling, is suitable for mounting on excavators weighing more than 30 tons and has a hole diameter capability of 51- 102 mm. The 51A is intended specifically for open pit mine duty and has a diameter range of 89-127 mm. An optional rod changer allows drilling to a depth of 29 m. All units are equipped with the AutoDrill automatic drilling system, which allows direction of drilling to be controlled from the cab and which automatically reacts to changes in the rock. The AutoDrill system also can display angle and depth of hole and the drills can be equipped with a video monitoring camera for better operator visibility.
