Sandvik Mining and Construction has added significant upgrades
to their line of underground loaders. The new Sandvik LH series, which replaces
the popular Toro and EJC brands, incorporates a long list of reliability and durability
updates, as well as improved safety, serviceability and operator comfort features,
according to the company. Improvements include:
• Onboard diagnostics and troubleshooting
for reduced downtime based on
CANbus technology, as well as simplified
user interface with an interactive
display.
• Wiring harness connectors that provide
increased reliability and ease of service.
• Common electric and hydraulic systems
throughout the series for compatibility
and ease of maintenance.
• Improved cooling: higher ambient temperature
capabilities equal longer component
life. The series’ air over oil coolers
for hydraulic and transmission oil,
and large engine cooling capacity allow
the LH units to operate in environments
up to 55°C.
• Load-sensing hydraulic system, with a reliable
piston pump that delivers power
only when and where needed for more
power but still less wear on the entire
system. The system is further improved
with a separate tank for brake cooling.
• Stronger bucket, offering extended
service life and easy replacement of
wear parts. The LH bucket now features
a single casting as its backbone.
• Ground-level daily maintenance access,
three-point mounting and dismounting,
fall protection systems, and fire prevention.
• Redesigned operator cabin, with easier
access, improved visibility, efficient air
conditioning and lower noise level.
Smaller units with capacities from
1,000 to 3,500 kg and low profile units
up to 10,000 kg are also available, but
do not currently include the electric and
hydraulic updates. Those upgrades will
be incorporated into future versions of
these units, according to Sandvik. The
table below shows general specifications
for larger LH series loaders.
