Jinhuagong Sets New Monthly Production Record
Using a fully automated plow longwall
system, which it commissioned in
2005, the Jinhuagong mine, located
near Datong, China is setting production
records. With an availability of
more than 95%, the 800-kW DBT
Gleithobel GH 38 plow system achieved
the best shift output of 3,760 metric
tons (mt) in July 2007. The best daily
output reached 5,700 mt. These are
both new mine records. In July, the
plow team mined 100,031 mt of raw
coal, a new record for the plow working
team at this mine. This achievement is
notable given that the longwall is operating
in very hard coal. The face is fully
automated. The face is 200 m long and
the seam varies in thickness from 1.35
m to 1.5 m. The mine had an annual
output of 4.25 million mt in 2005. The
plow system was supplied by Bucyrus
International.
