Conveyor Accessories for Improved Efficiency
Superior’s material sensor emits sound waves and measures the time of the return echo. The built-in electronics in the sensor accurately calculates the distance from any material on the conveyor belt. A switch output sends a signal to the PLC processor, where the automation program goes into pause mode when the belt is empty. When material returns to the belt, the automation program resumes. The Sonicscout material sensor bracket is designed to be mounted on any CEMA rated idler. The sensor brackets fit 24- to 48-in. belt widths, with the sensor mounted over the center roll to eliminate errors caused by belt sag under load. The sensor is designed to fit any new or existing TeleStacker conveyor.
Superior also said it now offers the industry’s first bilingual PLC automation package for installation on its TeleStacker conveyors. The touch-screen PilePro automation system features a standard program that enables the user to select either English or French language versions. The new feature initially will be included on three TeleStacker conveyors being shipped to Quebec, Canada. Superior says TeleStacker conveyors equipped with PilePro automation are capable of building partially or fully desegregated stockpiles in windrows or conical piles. The program’s instructions allow for quick and accurate adjustments to the radial arc distance, extension distance and radial incline distance.
